Post by Justice » Thu Jan 26, 2006 4:27 am

Hi all, I am newish to linux running red hat 9 since 2004 first using it as a router to give my computer acsess to the internet through 1 ip adress when I was living with my parents. so If they wanted I-net acsess I had to run RH. At that point I was A linux user. My on;y problem is with games. I guess I just need to bitch more to the developers. any way I am wondering are ther any good canadian based linux sites?

You mean like canadian discussion forums, IRC channels or maybe even Linux User Groups?

And by the way, for your game issue, just dual boot with Windows, that way you can run Linux for pretty everything and Linux for the games, the way I solved the gaming issue is to just use consoles, I have a GameCube and a good bunch of games which I love to play, and with the next-gen consoles, I think it's really gonna get interesting.

Our buddy Jon Watson (based in Calgary) used to do the GNU/Linux User Show now has a new linux podcast:
http://jon.libsyn.com/
http://www.jonwatson.ca/

Judland is a regular around here:
http://judland.blog.ca/main/

Our friend Marcel Gagne from Linux Journal:
http://www.marcelgagne.com/blog

Judd Vinet (founder of Arch linux) will be a guest in a couple weeks. He lives in B.C..

FYI, we have more Canadians on than any other show. I've lost count. We're still waiting for our honorary Canadian citizenship to come through ;)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there are more people in canada than that.

Isn't Canada slighly larger than Rhode Island and smaller than New Jersey?! ;)

I dunno - canada is one of those states I have trouble with. IIRC it's somewhere between nantucket and maine. It's small though, I know that much.

What's smaller Andorra or Gilbraltar? I've been to both and they're pretty damn small. Luxenburg is tiny as well. I haven't been there yet.

Don't forget Monaco and San Marino.
