Jesus' Commandments:

1 - Love your enemies
2 - Sell everything you own
3 - Abandon your family
4 - Cut off your hand and gouge your eye out
5 - Drink poison

Anyone who disobeys Jesus is not a Christian and they will burn in hell according to scripture...

Happy New Year!

Some people have nothing better to do than bash Christianity I guess. Christianity, if nothing else, is one religion that is tolerant of others, including atheists. And, there are good atheists who present legitimate and mature views and opinions, and then there are those atheists who need to grow up.

Christianity is not without its faults but at least it has solid foundations, meaning, and purpose. The small minority of atheists who carry on like jackasses, do nothing for the others and nothing for anyone else. Take away all that Christianity has influenced in this land and you'd be left with a hollow shell of wanderers, trolls, and misfits who, collectively, would have bred anarchy and not made it out of the 19th century.

First and foremost, a Christian is going to Heaven because he receives the free gift of salvation. In a prior post, I described (from the book of Romans) the process of salvation. Salvation is a gift. It is not earned.

Now to the points;

Love your enemies-> Yup, we should love our enemies.
Sell everything you own-> Of course not.
Abandon your family-> Of course not.
Cut off your hand and gouge your eye out-> The apostles didn't do that and they will be in Heaven.
Drink Poison-> Of course not. Once again, the apostles didn't do that either.

Don't rely on youtube or anyone else to tell you what is in the Bible; pick up a bible and read it.

I have read the Bible, which is why I'm an atheist.

No offense, but if you seriously came to the conclusions you did in your first post, I personally don't believe you have read the Bible.

I also find it hard to believe that reading the Bible would 'make' you an Athiest. I certainly could believe that one would be an atheist then read the Bible. However, the case for atheism does not exist in the Bible; quite the opposite is true.

If you have decided to reject the God of the Bible, that is certainly your choice and I can respect that. I respect your decision even more if you have taken the time to read the Bible before making your decision; most people would not have done that. However, if you read the Bible and drew the wrong conclusions you owe it to yourself reevaluate.

This is a great post. I know that it's dumb because all but one if quoted out of context are really crazy. But it's great to see a post that just gets people are angry. I love to post things that that as well. It's pretty funny. But Jesus also said unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood than you can't enter the Kingdom. I believe that I am quoting that right. Anyway, unless you have an understanding of what you are reading and what these things imply it's kind of hard to judge what you think of them. I have not watched the youtube video though. But I'm not going to either I read my Bible and study what it means. :) Good post though, very funny.

Where did you find these commandments? It's not in the last bible I actually cracked open. Now they are saying Jesus was a Gemini. Gemini is the typical used car salesman sign.

Better check again...
1 John 2: 3-4 wrote:We know that we have come to know [Jesus] if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not with him.
Luke 6: 27-28 wrote:But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
Love your enemies? Yeah, lets send Osama Bin Laden a fruit basket. Great fucking advice.
Luke 14:33 wrote:Any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.
Sorry, Christians, until you sell off all your belongings, you can't be Jesus' disciples. Looks like hell for you!
Matthew 19: 28-29 wrote:And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life
Yeah, I'll go leave my house and family in January. I have Jesus on my side, so I won't freeze to death...  Stupid!
Luke 14: 26-33 wrote:If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters - yes, even his own life - he cannot be my disciple... And In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple

I sure see a lot of disobedient Christians out there...
Matthew 5: 27-30 wrote:You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a women lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
Fantastic teaching. I guess a lot of Christians obey this one, eh?
Mark 16: 17-18 wrote:And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well
Try that one, I'm sure you'll be fine...

He also said that if you loose your life you will gain it. And that unless you become like a child you cannot enter the kingdom. That's why they call Christians Jesus Freaks. I myself am a Jesus Freak. And I have been for like 9 years. :)

I quit going to church. Most of the people are supposedly so religious are the worst offenders of the faith. Every time I think about church, I think of the scene in the "The Godfather" where Michael is christening his son while people are being murdered under his orders. Most of the less than honorable people in my life have been devout practicing showoff Christians. Any fool can grandstand and let himself be murdered, but it takes more guts to stand up for what is right. Jesus was a loser. IF in fact he was the son of god he was not really losing anything. His sacrifice was superficial. I dare Jesus to walk the earth today.
