Post by eddie » Sat Dec 27, 2008 3:40 pm

Since so many people are running servers here I was wondering what os platform, web server, database, media servers, and web apps do you run.
ie
OS platform: Microsoft, Apple, Linux, Bsd, or etc
Web Server: Apache, IIS, Nginx, Lighttpd, or etc.
Database: Mysql, Postgresql, MSSqL, or etc.
Media server: Mediatomb, Firefly, UPnp, ice/shoutcast or etc
Content Management System: Drupal, Wordpress, Moodle, or etc
Enterprise Resource Planning: Bravo, Sugarcrm, or etc
Mail server: Zimbra, MSExchange, Squirrelmail, or etc
Accounting web apps: Ledgersmb, Sql-ledger, Nola, Peachtree or etc.
Other apps such as Opengoo, EyeOS, calendar, Groupoffice
Whether or not you use in house apps.
Development language: Java, Php, C, MSVisual, Python, Joomla, or etc
Webserver management: ispconfig, Cpanel, or etc
Blogging forums: Vanilla, phpBB, SMF, or etc.
Any apps that I have not mentioned.

OS platform: OpenBSD
Web Server: Apache 1.3.29 (OpenBSD fork)
Apps: WordPress, MediaWiki , phpMyAdmin, Gallery2 etc. etc. various things I feel like experimenting with.

I should say that my web server here at home doesn't run anything beyond experiments, because the upload speed I have sucks so badly, so it's not worth trying to host anything at the present time, but nonetheless it's fun to play around with.

I don't have a web server, but I do host my own asterisk server for my personal lines. I use Druid Open Source Edition. It is running on an old Dell server box. It uses an RPM based distro. The boys on TLLTS recommended grandstream phones, so that is what I use. Everything works great...

FreeBSD 7.0-Release, Apache 1.3.x, Webmin. I pulled the plug on that machine because I was having electrical problems (circuit breaker kept tripping) so I had to disconnect everything until the electrician fixed the problem. I haven't had time to get everything up again yet so I that's why I am not sure what version of Apache I was running. Obviously, the machine isn't running anything critical; just my box for experimenting.
