Another idea..., have a commercial with Ballmer throwing a chair at a Mac computer.

What costs over $200, needs a lot to perform, takes awhile to get ready, and has issues?


1. A used car.

2. Ex wife.

3. Vista

Wow.

I saw it during the football game. Had to see it twice because -

1 - wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything,

2 - couldn't believe it was that bad.

But I wasn't and it was.

I almost feel sorry for Gates.

I would like to have been at the meeting where the high-paid geniuses enthusiastically approved this thing.

As one person there said, it's a commercial about nothing.

If this is a joke by Seinfeld on Gates and Microsoft, then it is genius.

The more I think about the commercial that it might of had double intentions. When Jerry asked Bill whether he had ever been a mentor to ms employees, was it suggesting the all ms employees were morons and they could not do anything without Bill's help. Secondly when Jerry asked bill about whether a great os would ever come out, was this an admonishment to vista programmers for coning out with a piece of crap. Is well known that Bill sticks with the one who brought him to the dance, but non-publicly he thinks vista is not robust. Maybe that is the reason why he pseudo left??

The opinion I've heard that I believe is that the point of these commercials is to get the buzz about Microsoft going, not to promote a product.

Considering this thread and the amount of time spent discussing the commercials on last night's show, it's working.

I had heard that. I'm not sure that "any press is good press," but that seems to be their attitude.

I think copying the Apple commercials will be even worse than the Seinfeld ads.

Still might be funny for a bit. My brother's computer bit the dust so he bought a new one with vista. He has to run a program called xactimate. He has been driving me crazy complaining about it. It would have been better to stay home and take a chance at not drowning from ike. I should of had a video camera to record the event to put on you-tube. Microsoft was down 20 or so earlier today.


Update: Rumor has it that the commercials have been canceled.
