Best Linux compatible webcam

Hi I want to know if there is a great webcam that work with linux. I have been debating between the logitec omni and getting an actual video cam that works also as a webcam (youtube). Those are around 100 - 150 dls, however I do need to verify it will work with linux. I have research on the linuxquestions.org database but there is not enough information about the devices.

If anyone has a first-person experience and put their webcam brand here.

Well, I just bought a Logitech QuickCam Communicate MP. Used it last week on the show. Works pretty well.

I have a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. It is supposedly one of the best out right now. While it doesn't look as good as it does on windows (and missing the add-in stuff my kids love) it works great and still looks really good on my kubuntu box. It was $100 at Best buy.

Well, I just bought a Logitech QuickCam Communicate MP. Used it last week on the show. Works pretty well.

Which driver does the kernel uses? mine uses a gspca for a spca5xx type webcam.

It Doesn't work with stickam though. Stickam only supports V4l, not V4l2, but does work running XP vmware machine (on kubuntu).

I love Logitech Quickcam Pro 3000 and 4000 with Linux. These are high quality CCD cams that sold for 90.00 when new, but now often available on ebay for anywhere from 15.00-50.00. They work perfectly with Linux. Just plug in and enjoy. The most reliable software in my opinion (if you upload to a web site) is camE. I also like camstream, which differs from camE in that it has a gui.

A new version of flash came down the Ubuntu repos. Stickam is not working anymore. I'll have to go back to the old version until the bugs are worked out.
