Looks like the top horizontal banner on the LJ site is something like 750x90. Were there some definite size requirements they provided?

Nice job, that'd be my first choice.

Yet another kick at the can. I showed two colour variations and also with/without the kinda-shiny main text. Apologies to Van Halen for borrowing the tag line. :)

I like the first one with the orange letters. What does live without a net mean? Honestly, I think "Linux Talk. Unfiltered." is the coolest.

I like the second one, with the dark blue letters.

I'm using Inkscape to do mine. It's vector based (not a bitmap editor like the GIMP). It's similar to something like Adobe Illustrator. Better for some things, not for others. It's at http://www.inkscape.org

Without a net is kinda like a circus reference. Like doing the high-wire act, without the benefit of a safety net. I thought it was kind of appropriate for TLLTS since things inevitably do go wrong (Dann compiling his kernel etc..) ;) I thought it was a well-known saying. But I'm actually quite good at being wrong. ;)

I like the Linux Talk Unfiltered slogan best too.

Thanks for the feedback.

I've been doing mine in GIMP. Just installed inkscape, I'll have to play around a bit. rfquerin: Great job, man. I'm diggin the "Linux Talk Unfiltered" as well... I think with the dark blue text.

Good stuff from everyone. Personally I think it's a good thing if the url is listed on the banner. Even if someone doesn't click on the banner they'll see the website address and might hit it later.

Alright...I should know better than to enter a graphic contest with rfquerin. He's like Federer to my Roddick.

Very simple and elegant logo...that's what I keep telling myself.
Alright! I smell something.

Hehe. You flatter me. At least I'm not the Sonny to your Cher... <shiver>

I like the 2nd entry you posted better than the first. The old-style mic graphic is nicely done. Also nice is the area on the right where you give the show info (url etc.).

I'm not a huge fan of the yellow but I guess it goes well with blue and heck, I'm not an ubuntu-brown hater either. So what the hell do I know. ;)

There are quite a few good entries here.

Is it just me or does tllts.org look more like tits.org?...which I am sure is a far more interesting site.

When I was creating that red tllts stamp in one of my previous entries, I thought exactly that same thing and ended up searching high and low for a sans serif font with a lowercase L that had some kind of curve or serif to it. Ended up choosing Trebuchet.

Tits.org btw is a big disappointment. Unless of course you think 911 was a hoax.
