The funniest thing ive seen in a long time, would be awesome if it were to happen in KDE 4

I think it's funny, myself. You usually get that KDE window-smashing sound when something crashes, now there's actually a visual effect to go along with the sound. I'm impressed with how well the effect has been done, too.

The above is just a mock-up

Yeah, I should have guessed that, given the early stages of composite in kwin. Wasn't thinking…

Whoever invented that breaking-glass sound needs a hot needle in the eye. It's not only a shitty sound to hear, but it's entirely inappropriate to scare the fsck out of users just because an app crashed. I think the term "anti-human" applies well to that sound.
Shared pain is lessened, shared joy is increased; thus do we refute entropy.

lol, I agree. It's not exactly pleasent. When I first started using KDE a few years ago, that used to scare the crap out of me when I had my headphones cranked up. Thankfully GNOME has no such "feature".

When I was in college, I worked at the computer lab and remember the old Macs crashing. They had a car crash sound complete with screeching brakes to accompany any system crash. That and the silly little bomb.

Oh yeah right. Mac apps don't crash.

I remember this hilarious virus on windows years back that made it look like the screen itself was getting fractures.
