Our interview with J.T.S. Moore was mentioned in the comments.

That reminds me... I bought a copy of the DVD after your interview with JTS Moore and really enjoyed the film. I even got my wife to watch it with me, and she liked it.

Saw that on Digg this morning and marked it as spam. Not much else the rest of us can do since we're not the copyright holders.

Did J.T.S. strike a deal with Google?

If you either go to google video and search for "revolution os" or follow the Digg link above and go to the site the digg article links to, and then click on the "Go to Google Video" option you can see the video is listed as being from.

"J.T.S. Moore, Wonderview Productions"

You can go to it directly with this link

I wonder if J.T.S. caved in and put it up himself on Google Video? (hopefully he struck a deal with them and got some cash out of it)

If you look at that user's other posted movies, all of them are from different sources totally unrelated to J.T.S. Moore. That doesn't totally count Moore out as the source, but it's pretty doubtful.

I don't see any other videos in a cursory check listed as being from J.T.S.

All those others listed as being from that user have different names on them.

No he didn't, listen to the interview with him and you'll hear for yourself.

I did listen to the interview back when it aired.

My question was posted because the google video seemed to have his name and studio name as the owner.

I figured he would have had Google pull that immediately if he didn't post it.

Thanks for the info though.

I thought that in the interview he talked about how it was basically impossible for him to "pull" the video. Google refused to do anything when he did make such requests.

IIRC, it was more like he had to file a complaint for every single copy of it up on the server, and he had to monitor the server to see that no new ones popped up.

I'd have to go back and listen, but I didn't think he was able to even get a single copy of his movie pulled, but he did mention that if he did get even one pulled, he'd have to constantly fight every one the same way again, which would cost him dearly and prove an uphill battle.

I can understand his frustration and disapproval of his film being shown on Google Video for free, but come on, this is the Internet. You can't fight it. You can't stop people from sharing this stuff, and in reality, it's probably helping his sales, since it's basically free promotion for him.

I vaguely heard a similar opinion by Steinberg the author of cubase and other audio software that they would not mind people leeching there software because it would expand there userbase.
At least he is not being an idiot about it like Metallica or the ms anti-piracy crusade ( i received something in the post the otherday in a comic form, which bitched about how pirating ms effects the economy and other crap)

He seemed pretty sure that he'd been losing sales.
