Saw this pop up on Digg and thought everyone would enjoy it. I can't decide if he is serious or just a talented troll. It's just crazy enough to be believable. Are you saying that this linux can run on a computer without windows underneath it, at all ? As in, without a boot disk, without any drivers, and without any services ?
That sounds preposterous to me.
.....
Its just not possible that a freeware like the Linux could be extended to the point where it runs the entire computer fron start to finish, without using some of the more critical parts of windows. Not possible.

That idiot needs to go talk to AMD, because they have said, in a public meeting, that the code in LinuxBIOS that turns on the HyperTransport bus in AMD64 systems, was better than anybody's HyperTransport code!! They have an employee (Yinghai Lu) who does nothing but LinuxBIOS full time, and there's support for a brand spanking new desktop motherboard from Gigabyte!brakthepoet wrote:Saw this pop up on Digg and thought everyone would enjoy it. I tell you what, Digg has shown me the folly of my ways. Paying close attention to the habits of many Digg users, I was able to figure out that reading the actual article is completely unnecessary. What a fool I was to waste all that time actually reading the entire stories! All you really have to do is read the headlines, let your imagination and biases fill in the rest, and you get your news for the day in less than a tenth of the time.
Thank you Digg!

Not if you spend an hour reading the stupid comments - that wastes tons of valuable time. The amount of time I have spent reading trollish BS and brain farts on the OSNews site is staggering. Luckily it's generally over my first cup o' coffee when I'm still clearing out the mind boogers from the prior night's lack of sleep.Vogateer wrote:I tell you what, Digg has shown me the folly of my ways. Case in point - I just wasted nearly an hour dicking around over at osnews. I need to find something else to do while I wake up - it's a total sink hole. I'd read cisco white papers (sriously) but they are damn rough first thing in the morning.
