Distributed shell

Post by coolfrood » Fri Mar 02, 2007 9:15 am

The guys interviewed someone a long time back (about a year ago) who created an infrastructure for running shell commands on multiple machines at the same time. Does anyone remember what the name of the project was? Are there any other similar tools that you can recommend.

Thanks.

You may be looking for cssh, "cluster ssh."

Here's a FAQ for that project.

Looks like there are several projects like this. If you happen to like python, here's another:

You're probably talking about the "Batch Login Project." Guest was Paul Ferris, who presented at the Ohio LinuxFest 2 years ago.

That's the one! I knew CSSH didn't sound like someone who had been interviewed. Batch Login looks a bit different from CSSH, too. I'll have to add that to my neverending list of programs that look cool but I'll probably never get around to trying.
