Post by mikeyp » Fri May 07, 2004 12:06 am

Anyone here used the program Karamba before?

One of my friends told me about it. I got it working last night. Here is a screenshot:

Its a pretty neat program that I think you all should try out.

Will it run outside of kde? Or does it require that you are running kde?

According to KPackage, Karamba is "eye-candy" for the KDE desktop.

Going to give it a try later myself.

Thanks for the post, Mike.

Hey, that's a pretty cool app. I like the configurabiltiy of it... once I figured out how it worked. I took a quick trip to the Karamba website, which explained everything I needed to know.

Your welcome Jud.

Sometimes I just find myself staring at my desktop just watching all of the different bars fluctuate.

Okay, one question:

How do I get Karamba to default to a .theme when I log on? Right now, when ever I log on to my desktop, I have to choose a .theme file before it starts up.

Well, I took a few moments and tried to think the problem through logically.

What I ended up doing (although it may not be the simpliest way of doing this) is I created a .bin file that executes Karamba with my .theme file as an argument. Then, under the .kde/autostart folder, I linked to the .bin file I created.

Now Karamba starts up with the .theme I want to use automatically. :)
