There are assholes everywhere. WTF is wrong with people? The whole point of a democracy is that people can and should have differing opinions and be able to express them freely without fear for their safety.

I have a lot to say about this but have to run off to clientland.

I couldn't agree more that violence has no place in the argument. I'm disturbed that too often "we" only denounce the miscreants on the other side of the argument. Too often side A will denounce side B's bad behavior while ignoring the same behavior on their end to prove a point. If we keep on that path I fear we'll only see more of these incidents.

I'm not advocating we all sing cumbaya and blow each other around the campfire, but we need to be willing to listen to the other guy without beating the crap out of him.
