Perl 6 _is_ a different language. And its not just a language, its also a virtual machine, which is what I'm actually excited about.. (By 1.0 release, I meant the 1.0 release of the parrot and its accompanying perl 6 compiler.)
I don't think Perl 6 is any more different from Perl 5 than Linux 2 was from Linux 1 (or Gnome 2 vs Gnome 1 [or GCC4 vs GCC3]). It's a major rewrite, but most Perl 5 will code function just the same.
I think we're a bit fooled by projects like PHP which change major versions so often. A major version change SHOULD mean major changes in the project.

How about some of the amaroK developers? Now that we've heard about Banshee from Miguel de Icaza and Nat Friedman, I'd sure like to hear some stuff about amaroK.

Some people from the Helix project would be great, especially if Real could use their EU lawsuit against Microsoft to force them to give them a license to Windows Media

Recently I've become more and more interested in the LinuxBIOS project, would be quite interesting to have Ron Minnich or Stefan Reinauer on the show.

/me seconds your motion
I also propose since our spat/Great-Thread maybe getting Leo on board. Perhaps a synergy arrangement could be made. Linux Q's can be automagically sent our way, and obviously answered correctly ;D
Also, howabout folks from iD or Epic that have a say in the linux clients (I know that icculus does the Epic client, but there has to be a PHB that signs his check).
Also, howabout someone involved in the food chain over at Motorola with regards to their new Opensource project:
https://opensource.motorola.com/sf/sfmain/do/home
Figured I would shoot those thoughts about.

I'd like to hear an interview with the people at VIA that head the Linux driver effort. VIA already has some free drivers on their newly created Linux Portal
http://linux.via.com.tw/support/downloadFiles.action
They also recently released 700 pages of documentation to the community. I'd also like to hear them talk about their new Nano CPU and how it compares to Intel's Atom. With all the recent moves VIA has been making to embrace Linux more it seems like a good idea for an interview.
I couldn't find any names on VIA's Linux Portal, but there is a contact email
linuxservice@via.com.tw

PJ of Groklaw I think would be a real interesting interview.
I would also like to see Mr. Stephen Ballmer be interviewed so he can explain how linux infringes on Microsoft. I know he would not do it, but I would at least it would be neat to see the excuse given for him not to be on the podcast!!!!!

How about interviewing Martin Pitt of the Ubuntu release team. It would be nice to hear about the development cycle for Ubuntu, How milestone releases are determined, stuff like that.
Just a suggestion
