Google + Verizon = Android phones on Verizon

Hey, I just heard that Google and Verizon are going to partner to put android phones on Verizon.
I'm due for an upgrade on my Verizon phone in a few moths. Does this mean I can play with the cool gadgets like the rest of you folks?
I haven't really cared, but if I can get an android phone without switching carriers, I might go for it. It'll be nice to give th iPhone a boot to the spuds, too.
