Now this is disconcerting. Apparently, Debian Squeeze is going to include a Mono-based application (Tomboy) in GNOME by default. Link includes some updates to the issue.

I have Tomboy as part of the default Fedora 11 install, but I think I'll load Gnote and kill Tomboy and Mono off the machine. Personally, I'm not for Mono use except for proprietary apps that a business might have created for itself that it doesn't wish to distribute. If having Mono there helps a business get a developer to create a custom app on the cheap, no big. But main apps of the OS shouldn't be based on Mono given Microsoft's behavior with Tomboy.
Bugz

Gnote is actually a C++ port of Tomboy, done by guy who used to work for Novell but was laid off, *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*.
On a side note, Fedora 12 will be including Gnote by default instead of Tomboy to entirely remove Mono from the default install, and potentially even the install CDs and DVDs.
