Saw your blog, thought I'd offer a solution.
CompUSA sells a Zyzel (PW-330 I think) router every couple of weeks on sale for $8-$15 after rebates. They can be set up as a wireless client to your main router then you have four ports at that station. It performs as a 'poor man's bridge' as one friend described it. As long as there's nothing heavy bandwidth wise on the other end it's good. In the house I'm at now before I had time/a need to hardwire this was a great solution and still works well for the guest room when needed.
Linc - Wireless Bridge

Patrick and Robert discussed Logitech's wireless bridge in ep. 170 of DL TV:

It's no longer in production, but you should be able to get it for cheap. The bandwidth isn't great, but it should be good enough for casual use (though I know that Linc is no casual user).
