I couldnt help myself... had to post a poll

I use Fedora myself but I imagine most of you use Slackware, no?

Mainly Slack whenever possible. I've been running Debian on this old Mac that I picked up, and I have Debian running on my GameCube which I can use to stream media to my TV.

I run Ubuntu. It's just what I'm comfortable with.

I run SUSE on my primary desktop, OpenBSD on my secondary desktop (a Mac mini), OpenBSD on small web server, and soon FreeBSD on my Xbox.

I run Kubuntu on my laptop and daughter's pc. Slackware on my test machine and screw around with fedora every now and then.

Slackware.
Have also recently used Arch and (K)Ubuntu quite a bit, but keep coming back to Slack. Just extremely reliable, fast (enough for me) and solid. Really pleased with the 11.0 release.

I run Ubuntu 6.10 AMD64 and my mother-in-law runs her mouth!

I've been running Arch for about ten months, recent switched to the 64 bit version and i'm very happy with it. Lately i've been itching to try something else just for fun but nothing really appeals so much.

After talking to Erik last night I'm very interested in checking out the whole rPath suite for building software appliances:

This type of thing is perfect for things for like Asterisk, LAMP, MythTV, etc..
Specialized distros that need to be streamlined for what they're doing.

They have their own distro and Foresight Linux is based on it: http://web.foresightlinux.org/

They have a next gen package management system called Conary:

That was a really great interview last night man! And what I really liked is that the dude knew damn well what he was talking about and not just wingin' it.

Also I liked the whole "the sky's the limit" and "use my bandwidth" attitude he had, that's just totally awesome.

I've played with Foresight Linux, and it's a damn good way for trying out the latest in GNOME!
The GNOME desktop you see in there is cutting-edge and looks beautiful with SUSE's Gilouche theme with a green tone to it, Tango icons and stuff, very slick looking.

My primary desktop runs Fedora, basically because my wife needs to have a system that just works. I also need Fedora for Jokosher development (since most of the devs are Ubuntu weenies). I'll probably upgrade it to Fedora Core 6 in the next few weeks.

My secondary desktop (the one I use most) and my server run Gentoo. I voted for Gentoo because it's on more machines in my house. If Gentoo were more up to date, and less buggy, I might drop Fedora.

Yeah, that was a great interview last night. The rpath guys are very cool -- they come to our local LUG meetings that are held at Red Hat and they are very, very involved with the community in a variety of ways, just like the RH guys. We have a pretty good technology atmosphere here in Raleigh, with the Research Triangle Park and the 3 big univerisities, NC State, Duke, and Chapel Hill. Epic Games (makers of Unreal Tournament) is based here as well.

I talked to Eric for about 10 minutes at the Ohio LinuxFest. He was great to talk to.

I wish I would have known he had that much Red Hat history. I would have loved to hear more about that. The funny thing was he was a few booths down from both Red Hat and Fedora, and none of them seemed to know who he was.
