Running XGL on SUSE KDE

Hello,
I'm wondering if any SUSE KDE user, Tsuroerusu are you here?
,
has tried using XGL/Compiz on SUSE KDE. Trolling around other forums I seem to understand that under KDE one gets less features than using GNOME. And more importanly, for me, I believe that your will have to install GNOME libraries and functions, which I wouldn't want to do.
Am I correct in these two assumptions?
