It looks like Linux will finally have a client for Netflix via Chrome. And it will be HTML5 no less.

According to the bug tracker it's already done:

And these:

Sounds like Netflix has not turned it on from their end yet. Getting close!

High hopes but still doubting this will happen. Yeah, I know it's a "done" deal but how many times have linux users been burned with promises?

I was able to watch Netflix streaming this morning on a windows box on firefox with no Silverlight or flash. The requirements page on the Netflix site has changed to reflect this:
http://movies.netflix.com/WiMessage?msg=51

Still doesn't work on a Linux machine.

Well, now that time has passed....

I can get the chrome plugin for netflix in linux.... but It's just a link to the site.
Pressing "Play" we are welcomed with a nice screen proclaiming that it only works with mac windows and chrome books.

I really don't think we are ever going to see netflix on regular linux or any distro's variant other than the chrome os.

Ummm..... the same old stuff just a few weeks later...
