Hi,
I enjoyed episode 20. Thanks for the mention about the HTPCentric Podcast episode Gadget Wisdom Guru and I were on.

I performed all fresh installations of Lucid and added Mythbuntu afterwards. I did my backend server first. During my frontend installations I did not have to point to the backend. They found and configured my backend IP address and Mysql password auto-magically!
Overall my installation and user experience have been great with Lucid Mythbuntu. The only issue I can recall, was on my frontends I had to turn-on an audio port using the alsamixer command.
Rock on, PLA

listening to 20 now. i'm thinking its time to get my mythbox going again (its been idle for well over a year. maybe 2!

) and its had some parts go missing. mainly the drives.
wow, the SSD's sound nice and snappy. and PLA mentioned a 2tb 5400 drive the other day. that sounds like a nice setup. a SSD for root. the spinning drive for storage.
hmm... i wonder if after a set period of time i could have the hard drive spin down to save power, with the SSD there awake ready to go. but, i get ahead of myself...

It has never been a better time to build a MythTV box or two or three!

Yeah get off your lazy ass!! It's never been easier. Hell I'll even walk you through the setup if you come down to the SoutheashLinuxfest. Just don't expect me to wipe your rear end too

Schedules Direct going to a pay service coincided with a move to a new house and i just never got around to setting the mythbox up again. wood floors, tile, and many gallons of paint have occupied my time. but, i'm 99% done with the house. so, i see me finally having spare time to sit and watch recorded shows again.
i'll get on it!

i have about 1.5TB's of shows to catch up on and then i will upgrade. i usually just do a full wipe and reinstall of mythbuntu.
