Hehe, looks like even Denmark isn't immune to internet problems

One might be inclined to point to certain individual low-competence ISPs...
Anyway, now it seems there is a site error of some kind - but the feed is updated, and the file is there.

That's nothing it took my ISP 6 months to get us connected and I'm 300 metres away from the town hall.

i just heard you guys mention Avast for linux? i used it for years on XP. but, i never thought to look for a virus scanner for linux. i wonder what it searches for? maybe it just scans linux systems to find if there is anything on the system that might infect a windows box?

i'm going to have to check this out.

EDIT: well, now that i think of it, there is clamAV as well. i guess what i was saying is i've never felt the need to run a virus scan on linux. i've never paid much attention to linux virus scanners. i do wonder what it looks for?

well, i suppose it could be handy as a repair tool. like, boot up a liveCD on an infected windows machine (aren't they all infected? ) then you could scan the windows drive from within linux.

I don't use any AV software on Linux I just find it useless. But I had good experiences with Avast on Windows so it should be a good choice for Linux workstations too

out of curiosity, i ran clamAV on my linux laptop. all i got where 5 false positives. it takes quite a while to run! but, its pretty amazing watching all that text fly by so fast in the terminal.

you know, i have a computer in the basement that i acquired. (ok, i garbage picked it. ) i believe the owner threw it out because it is infected. there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it hardware wise. but, i tried booting it once and windows is a mess. for kicks, maybe i'll dig it out someday and try and scan the drive from a linux live cd.
