Re: eeepc 900 for $169

I have the eeePC 900 with the 20Gig(4+16) SSD. It took me about a week to get used to the keyboard, but then I was never much of a touch typist. I've always been a "2 fingers and a thumb" from each hand style typist. I ran the included Xandros for a while, then activated the "advanced" desktop for a...

Re: New eeePC 1000 and having hell already.

While mine is the 900 20G and there are a few differences between ours. You might want to try Crunch Bang linux EEE version Cruncheee. I just as in 30 minutes ago finished installing it on mine and it seems pretty snappy. It's quite a bit lighter than stock Ubuntu. http://crunchbang.org/ Wireless an...

Re: M$ provides police backdoor access to Vista.

hmmm Interesting. So lets just say A Russian company has some info on their systems that pertains to Russian national security...and these days what in Russia doesn't pertain to national security. If they use Vista The US can get the information. Talk about encouraging a "national champion". Or even...

Re: I have to admit it... Vista makes a nice desktop

My only complaint with WIndows apart from them deciding how many Computers I can legally(and yes as you get older you get that responsibility disease and such things have importance with maturity...not that I am arguably mature, but I digress) load their OS onto, is it just isn't fun. Sort of the sa...

I use an iAudio U3 2GB and haven't had any trouble with the .oggs I listen to.

Shows in .ogg I listen to

TLLTS
Lottalinuxlinks
GAMER
Linux Action Show

And probably a few others, but I am too lazy to look at my Bashpodder .conf file.

"...they’re all lower-priced, lower features, smaller screen size notebooks aimed at f irst-time buyers or the second, third or fourth machine in a household. We don’t see any cannibalization." How they heck did he let that concept out of his brain? So basically they are aimed at those who are first...

Good news. I haven't seen any Boxed Linux Products on a store shelf since January when CompUSA went out of business. They carried Xandros, Linspire and Suse.

Re: Sincere Question...What Does Linux Offer A Computer User?

So this is a serious sincere question I'd like to pose. I'll be honest and say that I find myself spending more time on my xp computer because everything works and I've not had any problems in the 4 years since I installed it. I've begun to question exactly what advantage linux offers me as a DESKT...

Re: Ballmer paper prediction

I would say we'll still have physical mass media in 20 years or so(IMO). maybe after the folks born prior to say 1980 die off it would go away, but even then they'd have to make some improvements todigital news and reference data. Even using a Nintendo DS or something similar I'd be loath to take it...

Will I be alone in my boycott of the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray because of their DRM schemes? Nope. well sort of I guess. Mine is not really a boycott due to DRM, more a side effect that I don't think either format is of any longterm importance. They are both filler technologies for movie distribution and ...
