I've had problems with padding throwing div's out as well. I think the real problem is that W3C want us to use xhtml as html 1 was supposed to be used. For displaying information and not cute page layouts. I think they're right. I've noticed some sites, an increasing number, who use Flash for their ...

I agree with your post, Mr Guest; if that is your real name. On the show for the past couple of weeks Linc and Dann have brought up the W3C guidelines for not using tables for formatting. Formatting in the sense of positioning and controlling page flow. And not for the sake of displaying tabular dat...

XHTML, CSS 2 and Tables - oh my

Dann, I haven't used much xhtml, but you can trick tables by using 'display:table' type attributes, look at http://www.w3schools.com/css/pr_class_display.asp Here's some code I've been playing around at today, while listening to the show. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "htt...

For video there is also <a href="http://www.theora.org/">theora</a>, but I've never used it; although it's meant to be stable. But, the problem is trying to get other folk to use ogg, and theora. Oh, yeah, check out <a href="http://geekpolitique.com/">Geek Politique</a>. Linc's favorite people :wink...

I listened to the show, The Linux Box, pretty good. Didn't realise you heard of it, otherwise I wouldn't have posted. Live 'n' Learn. Click'n'Crash. Oh yeah, the intro's a bit long, you might want to skip it if you play it on the show :) Here's a funny link about why you should use firefox: <a href=...

New Linux radio show

I was reading Lxer, and there's a link for a new Linux related radio show. Just downloading it, so I don't know what it's like yet. Now you can be jerks to them like the Linux Show was to you - it's a cyclical thing. Check it out <a href="http://thelinuxbox.org/show.php?subaction=showfull&id=1105464...
