Re: open source electronic medical records

Hi,

How do I contact Neil Wallace? I have two web sites that I pulled from the chatlog, but no email address. I'd like to contact him and talk about his project some more.

Re: Linux Void 22 - LNS

Great show guys, I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the vim cheat sheet. Did you guys purposely disable the comment system on your blog? I wanted to let you know that Greg's volume was really low... or am I going deaf!?

Re: Autographed Contagious Give-away Contest

What!? I barely know these guys... I can't answer any one of these questions. I see what's going on! You're filtering out all the new listeners and only the "OLD" ones get a chance at winning contests around here, eh!? Oh well. Keep up the mediocre work fellas - love the show!

ASUS Eee - Should I Buy?

Hi All, I did a search in this forum for "eee" and it pulled up a couple of topics, but they didn't look like any serious reviews. I'm really interested in getting a Netbook and I love the $300 price for this device. Can someone, who has actually touched this Netbook, tell me if it's worth it. I'm a...

Re: Seriously, What the Hell is MythTV?

Is a card that has a coaxial port considered a TV Tunner or do I specifically need to buy one that says "tv tunner"? With that said, it looks like the "tv" part is actually coming from my existing cable service then?

Seriously, What the Hell is MythTV?

Hi All, I listen to the show and I hear the hosts talking about what shows they're taking/watching on MythTV. Unless I'm a totally dweeb I can't seem to fully understand what MythTV is, on their web site. I know it's a package I install on my linux box, but there seems to be a way to transfer stuff ...

Episode #254 and Lindependence Day Rep.

I really enjoyed the conversation in the first half of the show. It was really neat to see such a calm perspective on the matter. It made sense that some of us can get a bit tribal when folks talk bad about linux. My two cents on the matter is, if the "bad mouthers" take into perspective the great a...

Re: How Do I Network Two Linux Boxes?

Really? I have to define "network". I will, but just to rant a bit. It's so frustrating find answers in the linux community - because this wonderful operating system has allowed us to literally DO ANYTHING we want. In Windows/MAC a network was either peer-to-peer or server-client. Even after me sayi...

Re: Hillary Clinton Talks about our president.

That was distasteful, not for the crudeness, but using Hilary as some kind of sexual object. No good. I have to wipe my mind from that mental image of her saying "no more BUSH!".

How Do I Network Two Linux Boxes?

Hi, I did a search and really just looked at the first two pages of the results. If there is a thread already on this topic, please post it so I can read it. My issue is, I'd like to know how to network two linux boxes (at home). My wife runs openSUSE and I run Fedora. We've done google searches, et...

Re: Favorite Linux (and non-Linux) magazines?

I'm not that big into reading (darn). I seriously try to make a change about that. I used to read Web Developer, before they changed it. I still get subscriptions to eWeek, but since I got into podcasts - my commute to work (public transit) is filled with back-to-back podcasts. I used to get Game De...

Re: jesus was a wimp.

Wow, that is something! Since the bible is supposed to relate to us all - how about this project - make a movie, a short of some kind (done on YouTube just about every day) and fill in the cracks with bible verses. Some folks call the bible a modern day soap opera or love story. It would be nice to ...

Just to deviate a bit, since Hollywood is so spoiled - go the route of torrenting the movie.

Re: jesus was a wimp.

What!? I thought that movie was well done. I used to be DEEP into the church and I've heard the story many many times. So; to actually see someone put something together like that, it was breath-taking for me. I "felt his pain".

Re: Window lovers out the closet NOW !

I'm not really a Windows lover, I'm a pirate that's getting older and I don't have time to fight the system any more. I've got 2 kids, 1 on the way, a wife, a full-time job, and a boot-strap business. I do like Vista though, it's not the greatest thing out there, but I'm not going to bitch about it ...
