It looks like Linux will finally have a client for Netflix via Chrome. And it will be HTML5 no less.

Re: Google pulls Androids apps that are jailbreaking

BUMP.. it doesn't look like that MythTV Remote Control app was one of them.

Although since this blog is helping police these efforts it might be worth while to send them a note.

Google pulls Androids apps that are jailbreaking

Way to go guys! You were all over this in last weeks podcast. I don't know if the copied MythTV Remote Control was part of the apps that was pulled but it should have been. Once again you guys rock. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/technologylive/post/2011/03/poisoned-android-apps-taken-down-...

Re: Episode 26 - GoogleTV

Hey guys, I'm not sure what is going on but somehow the podcast is breaking my player. I have a Sansa Sandisk Clip+. I sync it using gPodder. All of my other podcasts are fine except for this one. It's only started with this Episode. It worked previously. What happens is the Sandisk Clip+ won't refr...

Real reason why Netflix is not on Linux (article)

This is just plain sad. I can't believe it all comes down to DRM. They must have a bunch of RIAA lawyers hovering over them like hawks waiting to prounce.

Can MythTV be IP only platform for watching TV?

I've been pondering breaking away from cable/dish/etc. for a while and I think I finally have the hardware to get this done. I currently have DishNetwork but our family really only watches a handful of channels. I would like to know of the possibility of going all IP based viewing of TV. The advent ...

Re: New Linux Kernel supports H.264

To be honest I have no idea. I was just happy to see some development on H.264. I'm sure MythTV had something to do with it. Perhaps any uber-kernel guys can lend some knowledge.

New Linux Kernel supports H.264

Has anyone noticed that the new Kernel 2.6.35 has hardware acceleration support for H.264. That's pretty cool.

Great, great episode. I love these type of episodes with the core developers. It really puts a lot of perspective on the interior workings of the project. Great job guys! Keep up the great work.

Re: any recomendation for a handheld cheap video player

I forgot about something that I should have mentioned before. One thing to look at for a mobile Linux device (and especially for media) is battery life. Mobile hardware manufacturers are notorious for leaving Linux out of the mix when developing for long battery life. They tend to optimize for Windo...

This just keeps getting better and better. Apple to be investigated by FTC over anti-trust concerns due to their restricted nature of their mobile device software development.

Re: any recomendation for a handheld cheap video player

Have you looked at the Ultra Mobil PC's. Not sure if they are a fad running short of a market but I have a Samsung Q1 Ultra. I have not tried video on it but I think it will work. Its a little big underpowered but should have enough. I think you can find them for fairly cheep now. I have Ubuntu Mobi...

Well so much for cheering on Jobs. He now has told a FSF advocate to go jump in a lake because Jobs and others wants to go after open source video codecs. http://itmanagement.earthweb.com/features/article.php/3879801/Apple-Microsoft-Come-Out-Against-Open-Source-Video-Codecs.
