Re: Commercial skipping
IIRC, you have to enable it in the backend and also in the frontend. Look in the backend/general settings and the frontend/setup/video/playback.

JFS Issue with CloneZilla
Hello All, Thought I would pass on something I found out this last weekend. I had a failing 750GB drive in my master backend so I ordered a new 1TB from NewEgg for $50. The failing drive had 4 partitions, 10gb ext4 /, 2gb swap, 5gb ext4 /home, and the remainder was formatted JFS for recordings. Atta...

MythTV .25 - .26 Upgrade
Dan Frey,
Could you please post what to watch out for for a MythBuntu upgrade from .25 to .26? You mentioned some things on the last podcast and I was not able to write them down. or please point me to a website with this info.
Thanks.

MythTV .25 OSD
Hello all,
Just upgraded to .25 and now the OSD does not show the channel number. Where can I configure this option if it is available?

Re: MythTV Backup
This week I had the "opportunity" to test restoring my master backend/frontend system due to a power outage problem. Even though this system is connected to a UPS, for some reason the system would not boot after a minor power blip. Here are the steps I took to get back to a fully functioning system ...

Re: MythTV Backup
perato, Thanks for your reply. Glad to see someone else besides me watches this forum. Your reply refers to an upgrade path, which I have done successfully in the past. What I really want is a known good process for backing up your existing Myth system and restoring it to a freshly installed new O/S...

MythTV Backup
Hello All, Is there a proven way to completely backup your existing MythTV setup and restore it to a fresh O/S install. In the past I have been able to restore my database but I loose all recording listings that haven't been watched. I heard Dann Washko mention something about backing up your /var/m...

Forum Behavior
I usually check in to this forum a couple times a day. Lately there has been no activity. One thing I have noticed sine the domain almost got lost is that when I select "view new posts", I see the same four posts with zero replies. Is this normal behavior?

Re: HDHomeRun Prime - Can't watch livetv while recording
Thanks for the quick reply. I think I finally found the problem. I loaded up a frontend on my laptop and I could not duplicate the problem that was on my main FE. So I duplicated some playback settings from the laptop to my main FE and it now seems to be working. EDIT: I think I spoke too soon. If I...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime - Can't watch livetv while recording
The MythTV IRC & mailing lists would be the places to go. I'll try this on my system to see if I have the same issue. Pat, I have tried the Myth IRC and mailing list with no solution. Have you tried this on your system yet? I'd really appreciate it if you would as I'd like to know if this is a prob...
