Re: The Google Phone will be $530 unlocked , $180 with T-Mobile

When I bought the Nexus One, I thought increased speed and a newer version of android were going to be the key benefits. But every day with this phone brings more joy; more useful 'smart' features. For example, when I make a call the phone recognizes when I take the phone away from ear and look at i...

Re: last episodes question about getting the show in mp3

hmmm... After I got my Nexus One I thought I would try Google's Listen app again. I am still not impressed. I am not willing to cut Google any slack for the horrid experience of searching for podcasts in this app. It seems to me that they creating a new search algorithm for looking for podcasts via ...

Re: The Google Phone will be $530 unlocked , $180 with T-Mobile

I recently bought an unlocked Nexus One to replace my T-Mobile 'My Touch 3G'. I couldn't be happier! The Nexus One is a fantastic phone.

Re: Mythbuntu and PVR1212

--Update-- I am not going to try and use the PVR1212 for IR blasting. It doesn't sound stable enough for me, so I am going with a different IR blaster solution. The graphic quality was not acceptable so I went out and purchased a GT220 Nvidia card and updated all the drivers to the 195 series. The g...

Re: Mythbuntu and PVR1212

Excellent... I still have a ways to go... That got me a video feed but no audio. In addition, the video is really bad; lots of distortion lines. I also have to setup the LIRC stuff for the HDPRV. I noticed that they now have instructions for how to do it with mythbuntu... But I will investigate that...

Mythbuntu and PVR1212

Mythbuntu doesn't appear to be activating my PVR1212 and I am not sure where to start looking to troubleshoot. When I activate the mythtvfrontend, then select watchtv, it takes me to a please wait message then 10 seconds later it returns to the menu. I notice that it does not activate the PVR but I ...

Re: last episodes question about getting the show in mp3

I use a program called my-pod on my android phone. I tried listen and I thought it sucked. I have tried doggcatcher too, but it wasn't for me, but it is a good program. My-pod has tons of features but one of my favorites is that it can start a web server so you can manage your feeds by connecting to...

Re: Mythmote Nexus One Demo on YouTube

WOW! I don't know what else to say... That is an amazing app. I was surprised out how responsive it was, I thought there would be a delay between the button press and response. There did not appear to be a delay. Great videos too. The quality was really good. I love how you staged the mythmote in fr...

Re: mythbuntu 9.10

I started over with Linhes. Their latest release supports mythtv 0.22. I really liked the install with linhes. It was very similar to mythbuntu, but appeared to be a wee bit faster. It is documented very well and there are several folks that are responding rather quickly to questions. I will continu...

Re: mythbuntu 9.10

I am really jealous that you have it working. The more I dive into it the more issues I find and need to resolve. I tried to import a dvd last night and the interface didn't appear to be working well. It looked like there were elements that were 'there' but not visible. The rip interface was a huge ...

HD-PVR IR Blaster

I get the impression that linux cannot use the IR Blaster in the Hauppauge 1212 yet. HD-PVR IR blaster (sigh) I am just going to hang tight for now. I ordered a couple of HP IR receivers and they appear to have a spot to plug in an IR blaster. When they come in I will try again using those rascals.

Re: mythbuntu 9.10

Yeah, it has been a nightmare so far. In any case, I decided to try installing mythbuntu 64 bit again. This time I did not select the nVidia drivers and just kept the open source ones. It is able to boot properly now, and I am finishing the mythfilldatabase part now. Hopefully this will work for the...

mythbuntu 9.10

Wow... I am having all sorts of issues with mythbuntu 9.10. I started getting the erratic screen flashing some issues are reporting so I switched up to the latest stable nVidia drivers (190.42). That was a mistake. Installing the 190 drivers would force an uninstall of mythtv. To get mythtv back I w...

Re: Need help w/system Specs

The M$ MCE 1039/1040 (also branded as a Dell OVU 4300) remote IR receiver/blasters can be had for under $20. I paid $17 on Ebay back in August when I put together my Zotac Ion box. Like you, I have one of those fancy logitech remotes. Therefore, I really don't need or want another remote. Plus, I m...
