I have a Motorola Milestone (Droid) so can I get a PAYG sim with mobile internet (3G) access included? Who has the best price wise and coverage wise? Alternatively, what is ...

Help with a web proxy routing problem

Ok, I have a VPN which I want to route traffic for specific websites through. I know how to do it I just don't know which utilities to use and how to configure. The proposed solution: Firefox -> Foxyproxy (filtering on regex) -> HTTP proxy -> VPN interface. I have Foxyproxy set up to use the HTTP pr...

Re: Top 10 list help needed

What is the criteria for making it in to the top ten?

Re: First time I've ever seen Leo Laporte lose his cool

To be fair to Leo, he has said many times in the past that he doesn't accept freebies from companies and that all review products are returned. I don't think he was overboard, it wasn't like he was screaming and shouting.

Re: Suggestions For A Server Build

I would like some opinions for a file server build. I have no experience with actual server grade hardware. The customer is a photographer and uses Photoshop. He is requesting a central storage system so that he can work on his files from multiple systems in his studio. I will use a Linux distro as...

Re: Linux is up to a whopping 0.88% market share...

Just out of interest, a google search for 'windows' yields 1.1billion hits (including hits for double-glazing :-), a search for 'linux' yields 441million hits, apple bringing up the rear with 128million hits for OSX. So if there is such a small percentage of linux installations, that small percenta...

Re: multitouch

Linux/X does now have mechanics for multitouch. The MPX (Multi-Pointer X) server can handle multiple mice so I can't see it being a huge leap to treat individual fingers on a touch device as pointers. Then you just need the software to handle the gestures of multiple pointers.

Re: Podcasters sue each other offer theft of ideas

It really pisses me off that someone can claim ownership of an idea (or according to Wiktionary "That which exists in the mind as the result of mental activity; a thought or a concept"). It's such a stupid is the notion that multiple people can't think of the same idea completely independently! This...
