Re: 15 yrs later, Bill Hicks gets his David Letterman appearance
He was funny, he was and still is somewhat of a cult in England. Its fun finding on youtube and other places some of his work that was not in the official albums. This is rare and as important today as ever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhjA0XNJlAs&feature=related Somebody made a funny video using ...

Re: Is the US media making Americans stupid?
By the way, not that I feel I should defend myself, but I do read about 20 books a year. Find my website and there's a list. On your list I have read books by Dostoevsky , Vonnegut , Burroughs and Kerouac , there enjoyable to read. I am currently reading Penguin Lost by Andrey Kurkov , very surreal...

Is the US media making Americans stupid?
http://mydailyclarity.com/2009/01/is-the-us-media-making-americans-stupid/ This is written by an American , so its not an attack but an observation. Barack Obama is certainly a breath of fresh air and I would perhaps even say one of the smartest American presidents for over 100 years. Some of the sh...

Re: Forum will be down for a bit
This is a despicable cruel and unjust action that will not go unchallenged , I am about to phone my local EU MEP to see what they suggest. Federal Europe will not take this disastrous and unkindly action with our hands down , as I speak 3 JAS 39 Gripen fighter planes are on their way . http://www.fm...

Re: I just donated the GParted.org domain to the GParted project
Well I don't dispute that, but are you telling me that Amnesty's irrepressible Internet campaign is more effective at getting freedom of expression to China than tools that actually undermines the totalitarian control? It's essentially the Internet version of giving weapons to opposition groups, li...

Re: I just donated the GParted.org domain to the GParted project
tools that can help undermine totalitarian rule are more efficient in the long term than some silly banner that the Chinese government can just ignore. http://www.amnesty.org/en/who-we-are/faq#is-ai-effective Is Amnesty International effective? We have a record of real achievement. We know this bec...

Re: FreeBSD developer terrorizes his tenants
You know, it's very strange that so many of these liberal gun law backers who kept saying that Iraq was another vietnam because we had a huge fight on our hands from the locals sure miss the importants of people having weapons. I would rather us have guns and be able to fight than to just be helple...

Re: I just donated the GParted.org domain to the GParted project
I have never given a donation to free software, I give to charities like red cross, amnesty and mind , a mental health charity http://www.mind.org.uk/
The reason being is free software is not as important to me as human life .
Being a student, I have to be selective too .

Linux - a bigger threat to freedom than Bin Laden
We have a new president elected, and Change is coming to America. One of the first things the US government will change is the methods by which terrorists use computers to destroy targets. Once Obama gets into office in January 09, Linux will be banned by the Federal Government. Linux is a threat t...

Re: FreeBSD developer terrorizes his tenants
After having a further look at gun laws around the world, economic division seems to be the biggest factor to gun related crime. South Africa has the highest level of gun crime in the world. http://media.economist.com/images/na/2008w39/Guns.jpg http://www.economist.com/daily/chartgallery/displayStor...
