Dann's command line outlining system

I think Dann mentioned several times (but not very recently) a note-taking or outlining application he uses that is command line based. I can't remember the name of it. Can anyone help? Thank you. On a related topic, I saw an announcement on Linux Today that Tomboy (currently a Mono application) is ...

Beth Lynn Eicher

Back in tllts 264 you had Beth Lynn Eicher as a guest for a pretty long interview. What a cool person! It's great to see a woman involved in the Linux community on so many levels, especially Ohio Linux Fest. She's a joy to listen to because her love of Linux, OLF, open source, and the community is s...

Re: Lindependance Thanks

I don't really give a damn if Linux ever becomes a huge desktop market. What a shortsighted opinion. The greater the adoption of Linux, the more all of us benefit from increased support from both hardware and software companies. And what about freedom? There are still countless people living in MS ...

Re: LugRadio calls it quits

I was very surprised and disappointed by this announcement. The shutdown of LUG Radio is another demonstration of the amazing longevity of TLLTS. More than ever, TLLTS is the gold standard which Linux podcasts strive to measure up to. I was listening to several episodes this past week (running sligh...

Re: How Do I Network Two Linux Boxes?

Hmm, the previous suggestions are great, but why didn't anyone mention NFS? I think NFS is very easy if you are only doing a few computers at home. For printing, why didn't anyone mention cups? Again, very easy.

Re: Best Linux compatible webcam

I love Logitech Quickcam Pro 3000 and 4000 with Linux. These are high quality CCD cams that sold for 90.00 when new, but now often available on ebay for anywhere from 15.00-50.00. They work perfectly with Linux. Just plug in and enjoy. The most reliable software in my opinion (if you upload to a web...

My other is digitally on the computer, such as downloading from Amazon Unbox or other sources, or copying one of my dvds to the computer. 99% of my movie viewing is still on a traditional set-top DVD player though.

USB hubs are almost always problematic in some way or another IME, regardless of OS. A surprising solution occurred tonight. Here in Greenville SC we had an intense thunderstorm and hail which knocked out the power. Shortly after I brought my system back up, I began to use the flash drive. Just as ...

Using flash drives with hubs

On one of my systems, I have tried two different usb2 hubs. In both cases, when plugging a flash drive into the hub, nothing happens, However, if I plug the flash drive into the hub, then unplug and replug the hub, the flash drive is recognized. But with a third hub, which happens to be usb1 (I don'...

I would be much more interested in his current Ulteo project. I am Much less interested in anything relating to mandrake or his stance on other issues. Any questions that flush out exactly what Ulteo is, what it's goals are, what makes it different and better in his opinion. I agree. Ultreo is the ...
