Re: Mythtv and Freeview

Thanks Pantera116

It is the dual tuner model.
I am hoping that an upgrade (or re-install) to 10.10 may contain a fix for this issue. That would be nice, will then allow remote reboots and power on from a blackout will also work.

Digital free to air, dual-tuner or more capture card

Hi all. I am looking to setup a new MythTV backend. Which capture card? Needs * Digital HD capture. * Free to air (co-ax) * Multi-tuner. I can use multi multiplexes, so dual should be sufficient. * Work in myth. This is for working with Freeview in Australia. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you f...

Re: Mythtv and Freeview

My backend is of similar core hardware spec. I capture HD content off Freeview (Australia) Do you just not have HD content over Freeview there?? I find my Nova-T needs to have the power pulled from the system if I need to reboot at all, otherwise it does not work. Something to do with firmware loadi...

Re: Episode 25 - Cablecard in Linux ?!

I listened to the interview, well some of it.
So this card is to run a cable TV feed directly into a MythTV box?

Be curious if it works with FoxTel and Optus, not that I have either though.

Re: Episode 344 and Android love

Hey Pat So your saying the excitement I heard was not so much for the technical aspects of the phone, but the idea that Linux powered phones are taking off? I can see that and I agree entirely. I love my Linux powered N900 but I am not a Nokia fan boy [although all my phones have been Nokia for the ...

Re: The next Nokia Maemo Tablet is finally also a phone

I have been eyeing the new N97 as an upgrade from my N95, but just ran into the N900 This is looks AWESOME!!! So now I am suddenly interested in Maemo. It runs apt-get under the covers? How big is its repos? The N900 will needs its own repo and can't use all the packages built for previous N-series ...

Re: Hauppauge PVR-350 :: get a simple cap

Nah I mean the file can not be played. Mplayer crashes out complaining the file is invalid.
Its 0 bytes no matter how long I cat from it to a file on disk

Code: Select all

cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg

Hauppauge PVR-350 :: get a simple cap

I have put the said capture card [Hauppauge PVR-350] into my desktop. I am finding I can not even test it on there. cat /dev/video0 provides a dud file. david@david /capture/TV $ ls /dev/video* /dev/video0 /dev/video16 /dev/video24 /dev/video32 /dev/video48 david@david /capture/TV $ grep ivtv /var/l...
