[Wsuug] It's time for another meeting

I prefer Kelly's
I'm interested in Erin's presentation
I had the process started, got my manager to approve. It's
just that the woman who approves that stuff -- cant' recall
her name -- repeatedly ignore me 5 times when I'd email and
request that she approve everything.

So, if anyone has any idea why Susan Roenker (is that it?)
is opposed to us using the meeting room, I'd appreciate any
help. she was fine withit, when my manager emailed her. She
just wanted some formal note from him. He sent it, and then
she just ignored all my follow up emails to make
arrangements for securing the room.

anyway, have a stand up.

later,

Sounds good. You up for presenting next month Erin? If not I
can do a presentation on Adobe AIR and some of the neat
applications of that.

Can someone at Dominion or who works downtown volunteer to
acquisition a suitable place for presentations? The PHP
group used Kelley's, and so I would think we could convince
them to let us use it too. It would just be a matter of
talking to them (I can get you contact info.) Or if someone
in Dominion knows who to talk to, we could try doing more
presentations in the Dominion building. If no one
volunteers, we can just do printouts. Not as fancy, but
it'll work.

Erin, I'm very interested in usability. I'd love to see
what you two have done.

Re Kelly's: I myself like it better than Moe and
O'Malley's.

We came up with a new approach to interpreting and acting
upon test data for the FRC search redesign. We combined a
few different approaches like mental models, affinitizing
multiple input factors, competitive analysis and then
finally determining the SWOT and strategy for the search
process from that. I'd be happy to present on the methods
we used and how it can be translated into other projects if
anyone is interested. (I may coerce Nickie into joining me,
since she was my partner in crime.)

I think I'm really the only usability person, so I'm not
sure how beneficial/interesting it would be for others who
don't do user testing or research. I won't be offended if
nobody jumps on it since this was to meant to be a DE UX
group topic. Also, it's much heavier into the user testing
and strategy side than standards, so I know it isn't
everyone in wsuug's cup of tea.

Ok. So we'll cancel for today. Kelly's can do presentations,
Or if someone can get us into the Dominion building we can
do them there. Any takers on presenting?

It's time for another meeting everyone. Unfortunately, I

go to and am not sure I will be able to make it in time.
Does anyone still
want to meet? I might be able to make it, just a little late
possibly. If I
don't hear back, we will just plan to meet in April.

I could go either way on that, mostly I think we should look
into
finding a meeting place where we can do presentations. That
seemed
to work pretty well at Kelley's for the PHPUG meeting last
month,
but today is probably too-short of notice. We ought to be
able to
set something up for April though.

Does anyone else have strong feelings either way?
