[Wsuug] A browser war is coming

While I think that the extensions and plug-ins for FF are used quite a
bit, I've found myself using the developer ones less and less. I've
gotten so used to having mouse gestures and I don't think I could use
a browser that doesn't have that functionality.

But on the topic of where the industry is headed. We're headed in the
direction of web standards. MS knows this and are trying to win the
hearts of developers. They've built a decent browser with IE7,
they've made some decent tools (al la Expression Web) and they are
making (or so it seems) a acid2 compliant browser. Just being acid2
don't mean the browser is good but it does mean that the browser
makers care a little bit about the industry. So I say its a good
thing. And I would suggest to anyone that if you have a choice over a
acid2 browser and a non-acid2 browser go with the one that can render
the smile.

As far as suggesting a browser to use... use what ever you like. I've
been asking people to upgrade from IE6 to IE7 as soon as I knew IE7
handled CSS better. As a developer I want more people to use browsers
that I don't have to write CSS hacks for. As a fan of OS I want people
to use FF.
