(Sorry for the cross posting, thought there might be some members of the LVLUG
who might be interested.)

This group (http://linuxbasics.org/course/start) is an offshoot of the group
that used to offer (I don't think they do any more) the basic linux course
that Jeff recommended to members of the sig. I haven't been through this,
but it could be worthwhile. Their first (online) course starts on September
15.

Anyway, here's some descriptive material from that URL: (BTW, the RUTE book
is available free on line (or at least, it used to be.)

'
LinuxBasics Course

LinuxBasic.org now offers a free Linux class for people who want to learn what
is under the hood of a Linux-System.

...

The course will start on September, 15th.
We will read through about one section of the RUTE-Book every week. Since
this will be our first trip through the book, we might squeeze two small
sections into one week or spread one section out over two weeks.
