At last night's meeting I mentioned that the LVCG is looking for some type of
Linux topic for the July 17 meeting at Mack trucks. The concensus seemed to
be that two hours is not enough time to hold an Install Fest.

Let me throw out this idea ... how about a StarOffice presentation. Perhaps
we could have a number of members volunteer to each demo one aspect of SO.
For instance one person could do the wordprocessor, someone else could do
the spreadsheet, someone else could do the SO environment, etc. We could
either set up one system and switch presenters or we could do the booth thing
again, with presenters bringing their own equipment to do their demo.

I think this would be especially effective for a number of reasons:

1. Microsoft will be doing an Office XP demo for the June meeting. Two
topics that will surely come up are MS's new licensing and the cost of Office.
2. Windows users can become familiar with SO before jumping into Linux.
3. Preparing a little presentation gives us an excuse to become familiar with
some aspect of SO that we've been meaning to try.

Any comments
