[Sig] Reading mini-CDs -- how?

Anybody successful at reading these mini "business card" style CDs?

Is there a trick to it, or must I buy a new drive?

My CD-Rom drives are the slide out tray "cupholder" style, with a little
recessed area that is about the size of the business card CD.  So far, I
can't read either of the ones I got at the show (neither the one with
the rounded sides nor the one with the straight sides).  I suspect the
drive doesn't know there is a CD in the drive.  Anyone know of a command
to tell the drive that there is a CD and it should "engage" (raise the
spindle)?  Some other trick?
