Dann and Linc,
You may remember that I had corresponded with Richthere@aol.com, a Linux
newbie, who was asking advice about installing Linux.
I had not heard from him, so I wrote to him last night, suggesting that
if he wanted to, he could bring his computer to our meeting on the 12th
and we (somebody) would help him get started or move forward from
wherever he's at.
I heard back from him today, and it sounds like he won't take me up on
my offer.
However, my question is, how do you feel about this kind of thing.
(Bringing a computer with the idea of setting it up and getting help
during the meeting (but with minimal disruption to the meeting))?
(I am thinking about bringing one myself, if I've got Mandrake 7.2
installed and am ready to try installing a wiki just to "get my feet
wet". Before then I'd download the wiki software, print and read the
installation instructions, and make them available for the rest of the
LVLUG to read.)
