I?m happy to invite you to join the project Lugworld! You can reach it at www.lugworld.org Lugworld is an international social network for Linux Users Groups and Open Source project groups in the whole world. In the era of Web 2.0, one can?t but use www.lugworld.org as a perfect medium for connecting Linux User Groups and Open Source project groups all over the world. It contributes to the greater integration of people who share the same passion for GNU / Linux and Free Software. The lugworld.org does not aim to substitute the websites of LUG and Open Source projects, but it is an additional useful means of communication between all the groups for sharing knowledge and experience. Everyone is welcome! Sign up now! Thanks, Antonio aka Hawkeye www.lugworld.org -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Is the site closed off to non-members, or is it still so new that the two listed groups are it for now? Also, if OpenID functionality was integrated, I'd be more likely to sign up because I wouldn't need to remember yet another username/password combo. (Like Roadnav, Navit, RoadMap, or Gnomad?) Message-ID: <201004261515.19544.rhkramer@gmail.com> Does anybody here have any experience with any of the Linux software that can use a GPS receiver with a laptop as a GPS unit? I've seen (but not yet tried) packages like Roadnav, Navit, RoadMap, or Gnomad. I want to find a package to work with a 32-bit Intel laptop with 512 MB RAM and a 1.5 MHz. processor. I don't want anything that runs under Java just for fear of the overhead. The GPS receiver I have is a Zenstar III which is NMEA 0183 compliant. I need a system for which I can download maps and store on the computer--i.e., I don't want to try to download maps in "real" time while I'm out using the GPS. IIUC, Gnomad needs a 64-bit processor, so I won't be trying that. So, if you have any experience with these, or some other suggestions, let me know. Well i choose social network because is the most simple to use for everyone :) The site is open to everybody, members and non members. And Is especially for non members. Each group can choose if want to be open or close.. but i suggest open. OpenID for now is not integrated but i'll work for it.
