Sounds like you're on the right track.

PS Do you know what college or degree I should have went for?

Oh yeah

I'm, like, resurrecting a thread that has long since passed and stuff.

That's not cool.

But, after listening to what several of my brosephs and brosephinas had to
say, I made up my mind that I would rather get an MS in Electrical
Engineering. There is a shortage of electrical engineers in any country that
I could possibly be living in in the next ten years, plus you need a license
to be an electrical engineer, where you don't need some kind of license to
do someone's operation research. I am learning about OR on my own time, plus
I already know several people who would trust me without formal
qualifications in that field.

I've always been at least nominally interested in electricity, and since I
wanted to get my Master's in something that isn't CS, why not make it even
*more* different than Applied Math? EE is definitely more distinct from
computer science than is applied math.

I'm only two years into school and still want that BS in Computer Science,
so my course won't be upset too much. (calc sequence obviously will not have
been a waste, etc.) Any ideas?
