Hmm.  1992 machine.  8 megs of RAM?  486?  I bought a new machine in 
1992 with that configuration.  Had to restrict to a 200 meg hard drive, 
since a 400-meg one was just too expensive.  I'm impressed, but a bit 
skeptical, that you are still using such equipment.

BTW, I used linux on that machine from the start:  0.96c kernel.  It 
even ran X reasonably well, though I had to first boot into Windows 
(3.1) and re-boot linux to get the video card to work.
