Gah! BSD and LSD!

Well, first of all, it's nice to see that someone still cares---I've
kind of died inside over the years, so I just fritter away time making
dumbass technology lectures, getting obscure foreign music for people
(what I'm doing now), learning Lisp, trying to succeed in school, and
generally doing anything I can to validate my existence now, on a day
to day basis.
So I'm not going to discourage you. I'd be a real mean prick and not
just a run-of-the-mill troll if I did. Keep up the good fight.
You can upload a lot of formats to youtube---I'm ultimately using AVIs
for my all my recorded VNC sessions now, actually, because transcode
can do nifty stuff with them. Of course, the player is Flash, and I
don't know how far the GNU Flash project has gotten as I'm honestly
using the standard SWF player which comes with Vector. I hate to make
it look like I'm proverbially slapping a decal on the back of Chevy
Suburban, but I do wish them the best of luck.
And fortunately, development for all these prop. codecs pretty much
has a strong foothold; remember that MPlayer and friends are largely
developed outside the US. The European Commission may have colluded
with the BSA and made decisions in secret, but it looks like we're
definitely safe from software patents for the foreseeable future.
