I've never used anything other than cp (I copy everything to a backup
partition from time to time) and tar (making archive files I move to another
computer).  Those are simple to use, easy to put into scripts so that you
don't have to remember options, and they are reliable.  sbackup sounds like
it is anything but reliable.
