Well that just goes to show you how ignorant I am about my editors. I did
a quick search, and, yes vim still doesn't have all the functionality of
leim. I'm waiting for interactive Lisp evaluation too...heh
But I realized editor dickfests are stoopid. Why don't I use vi when I
feel like using vi, and use emacs when I feel like using emacs.
Duuuuuh...Yeah, vim starts a second faster than GNU Emacs. (If you think
Emacs takes an hour to load then maybe you should actually try running it,
and check the output of free before and after. emacs is a hog...maybe on a
386) Yeah, emacs has wipe-users-ass-mode, a major mode that in fact wipes
the ass of the user with a two-ply Bounty. So?
I certainly miss being able to just do ^X ^D in vim. But there again,
pcomplete offers more possibilities. Although you have to frobnicate your
.emacs file to get it working. Not a big deal says I.
But on the other hand, emacs is made to work with intlfonts really well.
One little aesthetic tweak (default latin font is smaller than etl fixed
fonts which is ugly) and I was set.
But you know what, neither of them are pieces of crap produced by a
misanthrope with a bad bowl cut and they're both great editors.
And did I mention I hate the guts of Google sponsored links. Good thing
the HTML table is so easy to single out (width=25% in the opening table
tag and the closing tag is followed by a comment). Now everyone thinks I'm
some kind of sick bastard unless I qualify EVERYTHING.
