Actually, it seems like this may have been done already. I'm currently using
tovid to convert the avi to an mpg with a command something like this:
tovid -dvd -full -ntsc -in originalavi.avi -out output.mpg
tovid and a frontend called tovidgui can be found at
http://tovid.sourceforge.net/
Once this second file is done converting perhaps I can use dvdauthor or
something to actually make the dvd files themselves and then burn them with
k3b. Does anyone know if dvdauthor lets you insert chapter divisions?
