"The 1.6 ounce server is powered by the USB connection and does not
require any special software to work on the PC. BlackDog is treated as a
CD-ROM by the host PC and is booted automatically when plugged in."

I strongly suspected that some kind of BIOS hacks were involved.
However, I still fail to understand exactly how a BlackDog device would
suspend the host session, completely take over, and then resume where it
left off. Given that they state this partcular technology only works
with Windows NT 5 and 6 and Linux, I would guess this involves some kind
of interaction with the operating system itself. Perhaps you need
support for the experimental suspension code (for Linux anyway)?

All in all, it seems pretty interesting. Even so, I'd rather not shell
out $240 when I can buy a 512 MB flash drive and use an existing distro
suited for such usage or use vector linux as per the Flash Drive Install
HOWTO
