My one hdd used to make a bad grinding noise so I checked out
/var/log/messages and got alot of IO errors, but when the hdd was
starting to go it just cliked occasionally.

So I guess from all the comments posted, it may be a good idea to backup
and get a new drive ( I spotted a 100gig 7200 for $50 (including
shipping) on pricewatch).
