[Lvlug] Hard Drive Noises

You might want to use the smartd service to run a check on the drive and see
what is happening. Also, check /var/log/messages or similar and see if you
are getting IO errors on the drive access. This is from recent experience
from about 4 days ago. :) I was lucky enough to get most of the data off
before it hit the fan.

The best way to get rid of that noise is to get a new HDD asap. It is simply
a matter of time before that thing takes a crap on itself.
