Dude!  It has been done, done, done for <exageration>two years.</exageration>  
I'm just waiting for the call so we can test it.  I don't like the sound 
coming from my microphone but if yours is pre-amped then it will work fine.  
If not I will need to add an audio isolation transformer but I need to test 
it first.
