[Lvlug] CD Questions

Hi folks!

I have a few questions about CDROMs on linux.  I have a Prof who is 
asking me info about a configuration and everything is Dell Certified 
except they won't guarentee the cdrom configuration he wants.  Looking 
for your opinions.

The configuration he wants has a IDE combo DVD/RW-CDROM (Quadro 2 EX).  

Does anyone out there have any experience with CD combo drives?  If so, 
how has your experience been?

I actually have never burnt a CDROM in linux, but from what I have read, 
it is simplier if you use a SCSI drive.  "Red Hat Linux 7.2 Bible - pp 
310  - 315) . Would a better solution for him to be to have an IDE DVD 
CDROM and a SCSI RW-CDROM?

Also, I am intereseted in trying to burn a CD.  Do you all use cdrecord 
to make your CD's?
