I don't leave my machines on 24/7 so I can't answer that. I don't recall =
ever losing my connection. but I've probably never left it online for =
more than a day or two.

The only problems I've experienced are with their mail servers. There =
have been 3 or 4 times in the last two years when I was unable to =
receive email for periods of up to 48 hours. They usually don't own up =
to it when you call. They tell you that they are upgrading equipment and =
that you should only experience brief outages. It hasn't happened yet =
this year, knock on wood.

I have verizon dsl and I use Roaring Penguin's pppoe. They have a =
gui client I use called tkpppoe. It's simple to configure using the gui =
client. I think it took about one minute to do. Once it was configured, =
connecting to verizon is quick and reliable. Much better than the =
Windows client that Verizon supplies.=20

I haven't tried configuring pppoe without the gui, but it can be =
done. All you need can be found at www.roaringpenguin.com/pppoe. The =
newer Linux distributions I've seen include the RP-PPPoE package but the =
one online is newer.=20

    Have fun!=20

Great, now I know who to bombard with all my questions! How long does =
your connection usually stay alive before you have to re-connect, or do =
you not leave yor connection live?=20

  -Linc.=20

In The Beginning there was nothing, which exploded - Yeah right...=20

Calculating in binary code is as easy as 01,10,11.
